When it comes to a sports anime, there's always that one person who doesn't stand out most of the time. He's not good, he's an amateur, but he's always trying his best. He's not talented, but he has that will and faith that everything will be alright. Through hard work, he will achieve his goal. Well, doesn't that sound familiar? But really, we always come to love this kind of series. On the other hand, characters who can decide for themselves, who can think logically, who you can depend on without hesitation is kinda rare.   KUROZUKA ANIME REVIEW -BAKU YUMEMAKURA/TAKASHI NOGUCHI (JULY 30 2018) PLOT: Mind cracking. A twist you will never expect. A story which told how insane human can be. A reason you will find hard to accept but you can understand. This series was fascinating, captivating and very interesting. The common mistake I think the viewers stated on this series is that is being just a waste of time as it is confusing. It was confusing, yes. But that same fact is what makes the series going. It is the questions that will make the viewer excited on each episode, seeking for answers they need to fill the hole of the story.   HAL ANIME MOVIE REVIEW -RYOTARO MAKIHARA (MAY 18 2019) Overall: 10 Plot: 10 Before watching it, I already have an idea that this movie will break my heart. Long ago, I've already read the manga version of it and as far as I know, it is only a one shot story. This movie is about a tragic teenage love, missing and longing for each other. The feeling of regret, misery, and pain because of the words left unsaid. It shows how one need to move forward despite everything that pulls him down. That even if all the part of your life is so mess up, there's still a reason not to give up. That you can still find happiness and joy. And you should still be grateful that you are still alive with so many chances to change for the better.  Character: 10 There are few characters of the story.   OURAN HIGH SCHOOL HOST CLUB ANIME REVIEW -BISCO HATORI (JULY 25 2019) Overall: 10 Plot: 10 The story is a reverse harem anime about a very smart girl who got accepted as a special student in a school for riches. Her school journey starts upon entering the music club room and came to know the Ouran High School Host Club members. Every episode have different settings and comedy in it. The series show more the side of the club members slowly getting attach with each other, and realizing that each of them is important to one another. There be will a hint of love interests, and that is what makes it exciting.  Characters: 10 The first time I watched it, I really love the character of Kyoya which is the glass guy.   KOROSHI AI ANIME REVIEW -FE GENRES: ACTION, ROMANCE PREMIERED: WINTER 2022 Plot: He existed. He lived. He can't be forgotten. The concept of the story somewhat reminds me of Zankyou no Terror. Though the one screaming of existence is not he himself, but the one who knew he once breathe. The series started when Chateau Dankworth (bounty hunter) encounter Song Ryang-Ha (assassin) in a mission. After the unexpected meeting, Ryang-Ha continuously pester Chateau for attention, making the viewer curious of what his intention and plan.  I do love the concept of the story. It shows what one can do, for someone who became their light when no one is around to help them. How twisted, empty, and unjustifiable their action and belief can be because of how life make them suffer.  The series is really a great watch for those who are willing to understand it, for me.   SASAKI TO MIYANO NON-SPOILER ANIME REVIEW -SHO HARUSONO  GENRES: BOY'S LOVE, SLICE OF LIFE PREMIERED: WINTER 2022 Plot: Fluff! Wholesome! Pure! Aaaah, I really love this anime series. It's so refreshing and a breath of fresh air to watch this kind of romance once in a while. Though it's a same sex romance, which is not really rare in this era, it's cute and nice to see. The story is a senpai - kouhai relationship which started when Sasaki (senpai) helps Miyano (kouhai) in a difficult situation. In time, they became friends with the effort of Sasaki, loving and taking an interest in Miyano and the things he loves. The series is really just to chill. To enjoy the everyday, slow progress of their relationship. To see how one can discover feelings for another, in a natural and innocent way. Loving the process with unwavering belief that you can reach what you're aiming for.  Kono Oto Tomare is a story about high school kids who came to love playing a Koto. A traditional Japanese instrument which also called “Kin”. Koto is a long Japanese board zither having 13 silk strings and movable bridges. The library makers describe the Koto's sound thus "It has a lightness of flying butterflies and the sputtering of fish, but has the strength of thunder." MARUOKA-SAN CHI NO KYOUIKUGAKARI MANGA REVIEW -SHIRAISHI YUKI (APRIL 29 2020)  The story is about a girl student named "Hatsune" being clumsy, ill-mannered, and useless girl. Due to some circumstances, her father let "Kaede", a guy her age, move to their house. Being the perfect guy as he is, he takes on the responsibility of making Hatsune a proper girl as she should be. Thus, the beginning of crazy, restless day of Hatsune started. Like some cliché love stories, this one tackles more on a cute feeling. Falling with each other while living on the same house, realizing they want each other along the way, those lovely gestures and cuteness from the both of them. As well as the protectiveness of the guy and the sweet smile of the girl. It's a never-ending cycle. But what's wrong with it? VENUS NI ARAZU MANGA REVIEW -YUKI YOSHIHARA (APRIL 29 2020) The manga is about a girl named "Miyoshi" aspiring to be a known model in the entertainment industry. Though that is what she wishes for to happen, she only do sideline jobs at an art school, modeling for art students. There, she will get to know "Tarou", a teacher on that school, who's famous in his field. Captured by her beautiful body, she ended up being a model of him, while still pursuing her career.  I love how indifferent characters on this story are. While we always see characters whose lovable, cute, and shy, these two made the story lively. Miyoshi having been able to ride on all the craziness of Tarou is really fun to read. And Tarou, though always made anything a joke, but has that serious side which he rarely shows is the best. IN/SPECTRE/KYOUKOU SUIRI ANIME REVIEW -KYOU SHIRODAIRA (JANUARY 04 2020) GENRE: MYSTERY, DEMONS, SUPERNATURAL, ROMANCE, SHOUNEN Score: 9/10 In/Spectre or Kyoukou Suiri is written by Kyou Shirodaira which also wrote the story Zetsuen no Tempest. The anime was produced by the anime studio Brain's Base that also do Durarara!!, Hotarubi no Mori e and many known anime. The story follows a girl named 'Kotoko' and her encounters on different kind of spectres she, only can see. She stands as a mediator on conflicts between spectres, solving different cases using her great way of thinking. Due to some reason, she will fall in love with a guy named 'Kurou' who will help her solve mysteries she will find hard finishing on her own.  What I love on this series is how it focuses on what's happening or might possibly happen in real life.   ONE PIECE MOVIE 2 REVIEW -EIICHIRO ODA (AUGUST 05 2019) On this movie, additional crew has already been introduced, Sanji. The movie set up is on an island called Clockwork. With their ship getting stolen, they found their way on that island to have it back and found themselves in the midst of fight with Bear King. Well, another weak gorilla looking guy who only knows how to talk. Due to their traps and setups, most of the crews will be badly hurt, but that won't hinder them to fight.  The same with the first movie, the animation of this one is not that great. But still, the action and how the story evolves is a great one. It'll show how deep a person can care for one another, regardless of blood. If the first movie is about friendship of two men, this movie is about treating one as a family and how much are you willing to give them what they deserve to have.

ONE PIECE MOVIE 1 REVIEW -EIICHIRO ODA (AUGUST 05 2019) The first movie is where there's still only 3 crew along Luffy's. On their journey, they come across another crew of El Drago which is currently searching for the treasure of Great Gold Pirate Woonan. With the treasure map on their hands, they are on their way to this riches. On the other hand, Luffy and his nakama's been starving to death when three of El Drago's crew steal Nami's gold on their ship. The story goes on with treasure hunting and gold searching, written on the map.  Since it is the first movie and it is kinda old anime, the animation is not that really good. But it won't lessen the excitement watching it, given that the anime already made the name for itself. Additionally, the main recipe of the story where friendship and pride of a man take place was really great. It was a film that took one hour, seems like two episodes with just a very short but meaningful story.

  KENJA NO MAGO ANIME REVIEW -TSUYOSHI YOSHIOKA (APRIL 29 2020) Plot: Living an ordinary life in the modern time, the protagonist "Shin" got caught in an accident which ended his life. By getting reincarnated in a different world, with the memories of his past life, there's nothing he can do but to live a new life again. Having the ability stronger than others, the privileges he had having experienced ones around him, and childhood full of training, he will start his school life in a magic academy and started gaining friends he doesn't have from the day he was reborn.  Though he is too powerful in comparison from his friends or even military powers on their place, it will never be the case. It all equals out if their enemies are the same. The preparations or trainings they've made, as well as their plans makes it exciting to watch.  Characters: I really love anime with this kind of genre and is not harem. It's gold, it's love.   TONARI WA NANI O KUU HITO ZO MANGA REVIEW -FUJITSUKA YUKI Plot: "The best way to a man's heart is through his stomach" and so they say. It's also applicable vise versa, right? Wanting to change her life and enjoy the school life, Suzuna, who grew up in a countryside, decided to study in Tokyo. Yes, she has the brain and the looks (after treating herself a make over), but being independent is another thing. With a life she's stranger to, she came to know her neighbor, Seto, whom she can depend on. What I love on this manga is even if it is slow pace, it perfectly creates the connection or bond the characters need to have so that their relationship grow stronger. The step by step communication and closeness the protagonists show is just too irresistible. The feelings from none to love with each other is just too natural, it makes the story realistic (If it's just a human acting on it, I mean).  Characters: I really love the development of both the MC on this m...

  HIGH SCHOOL DEBUT MANGA REVIEW -KAZUNE KAWAHARA (DECEMBER 26 2019) Plot:  In this present time, most won't want someone who doesn't get dress properly, who doesn't put on makeup and wear cute dresses, who doesn't have that aura and pleasing personality. Girls, not all but most, dress up for the one they love or must we say to attract someone who can love them. In this story, there's a girl standing in front of everyone and waiting to get picked up, hopelessly wishing that a guy will like her, with his not so good fashion sense. She will come to know a guy who will teach her how to dress up properly, who will be her mentor and friend, who will always be there for her and can understand her gestures without her uttering a word. Isn't loving each other the only natural result we'll get?  Characters: I love how every character in this story grows. How each of them realizes their own feelings and faces them even with fear.   HOTARUBI NO MORI E MOVIE REVIEW -YUKI MIDORIKAWA (AUGUST 19 2019) Have you ever wondered if its possible for spirits, fairies, creature we don't know of to fall in love with human? And with human doing the same thing? This movie starts with Hotaru getting lost in the forest one summer vacation day on his uncle's house. There he met with Gin, neither a full pledge human or a spirit, helping her to find the way out and thus started their friendship. As their bond grows stronger, the want to know more and the need for physical affection arise. However, that is the sad part of this movie. Gin can't be touch by human. If so, he will perish forever. What I like about this movie is that their emotions are so pure, the way they built the relation they have to take time, patience and slow learning from each other.   OVERLORD SEASON 1 ANIME REVIEW -KUGANE MARUYAMA (SEPTEMBER 24 2019) Plot: Isekai Anime is so much of a trend right now. A boy who suddenly gets into the game they are making, someone who transported into the world he has no idea what is about, dying and turning into something different in another world, name it. Well, what differs for me in this series is first, the avatar of the MC is not a black haired guy or a handsome one who girls drool over, most of the time in an Isekai Anime. He is not handsome, but his appearance is really cool. A skull is so love. The second one is, this anime tackles on a more technical side of an MMORPG. I'm not really a fan of such game and the way that different features of it was explained is a plus. What I love on this anime is how he uses his sources, items and guardians, adding his way of thinking and planning every detail of movement he needs to make.   TAMAKO LOVE STORY MOVIE REVIEW -NAOKO YAMADA (AUGUST 20 2019) Tamako Love Story is a movie about a young love which blooms from a childhood relationship. As both the parents of Tamako and Mochizou own a shop of Mochi, along with the fact that their home is in front of each other, closeness of the two is inevitable. Their love story starts with Mochizou finding his courage to confess with Tamako. The story is not the one who will make you cry into tears, make you think of the twist, give you so much loving factor, and so on. I think, it is more on a cliché love story, a common one which we all know of. But that's what makes it good. That's what it connects to us. The common feelings we all experienced upon getting in love. That feeling of confusion, getting flustered, knowing nothing of what to do. But at the same time, our hearts beat, we felt happy, we felt an emotion that makes our heart beats fast. Thus, even if this kind of movie is not so unique, it will never get old. C...

  KOKORO GA SAKEBITAGATTERUNDA-THE ANTHEM OF THE HEART MOVIE REVIEW -MARI OKADA (SEPTEMBER 19 2019) The movie is about a young girl, Jun Naruse, who run away from how cruel the world can be. At first, I thought that the story would show a love story between two students that will end up with one of them dying, or something tragic. In short, a typical love story with a sad ending. But I was awed with the realism this story wanted to portray to the viewers. If I may say, there's only a little bit of romance in this movie. It is more of realizing that there are those people who's strong and there are those that not. There are those who choose to hide from the fear, pain, and agony that others throw at them. They are those that choose to just silently keep their distance to those around them, blaming their existence and losing hope on their lives. That is where those who love us come and save us. That is where we will realize who are those people that meant us no harm and will help...

  KOI WA HITO NO HOKA MANGA REVIEW -MINAMI MAKI (DECEMBER 28 2019) Plot: Is there a world we cannot see, creatures are living the same place as us, breathing the same air and seeing the same things. They, who we don't know suck on human lives in order for theirs to get longer. Living in a world like that is a girl named Sayo who only have her eyes on his sick younger brother. After meeting the demon whom she exchanged promise to in her younger days, the peaceful life she thought they have will turn into a mess. The secrets of the past will be open, and the world invisible to the eye will be seen.  Characters:  Girls with principle and strong character is rare in any story. And that's what makes it one of those stories that I like. Her will to get powerful for her brother and her courage to fight even if she's in a pinch is just admirable.   RERE HELLO MANGA REVIEW -MINAMI TOUKO (JANUARY 31 2019) Plot:  Here's a story about an independent girl, who stands as the foundation of her family after her mother passed away. And a guy, never know what struggle is, living a life of comfort and freedom. Sounds cliché, isn't it? It was unexpectedly common for me. Though the meeting scenario is different and how the two MC became closer with each other, there's this route of the manga that you can predict how it'll end. Not to get it wrong, the story is cute and pure, there are sweet moments like any other shoujo manga. I think, what I came to love on this manga is the pace of it that allows every character to change their feelings and fall in love.  Characters: What makes it slightly different from other manga is that the MC of this story can handle herself.   NENENE MANGA REVIEW -OUTOSAN (JANUARY 06 2020) Plot: One of the most interesting cases of a love story for me is about age gap. Well, that is the guy should be older than the girl. It's really cute to see how the guy handle things, the way they try so hard to stop themselves to do stupid things and such. This manga is about a young girl getting fixed marriage on a guy older than her. Having read it, it's such a short manga with a very common but pure relationship. The only thing that differs is the guys face which was left unknown till the end of the story. What if on your peaceful life, suddenly, without a warning, you've come to know a secret you shouldn't have? The story is about a transferee girl from the city to the country side. While everything is going fine on her life, she accidentally knew a secret about her classmates that will brought her memories from the past. Along the way of their closeness, history was revealed, feelings changed, and love will bloom.  Characters: This is one of the manga where I hope that the second guy will get the girl, unfortunately, he didn't. Guess, the only story that did that is Hirunaka no Ryuusei. I just thought that the second guy was the one who really love the heroine of the story. Sometimes, being gentle is not really attractive.   JIGOKU NO ENRA MANGA REVIEW -SHIMADA CHIE (JANUARY 06 2020) Plot: Are you kind? Do you make right things? Are your decisions the best one? Can you swear that you are doing your best to be good? What if one day, someone came and brought you to hell? What if he says you're not good enough, you will become a great sinner of the world you're living in? Will you let yourself be condemned or will you fight for what you believe in? Will you just give up or will you answer back? The heroine of the story is a strict girl. She follow rules and regulations. She always did what she thought is the right thing. Getting to know Enra, the one who claimed she's a sinner and was the reason she was dragged down to hell, she fights back and was determined to show that she is not.   SERVAMP ANIME REVIEW -TANAKA STRIKE (APRIL 23 2019) Overall: 7.8 Plot: 7 As long as a human being is alive, there's only one thing that won't change. It's the sin of a human. The story is about seven vampires of which also named as seven major sins. It starts when a student picked a lone beautiful black cat on the way home, not knowing that it was a vampire. Along the series, a bond between them will grow. And the past which Kuro, the vampire of sloth, wanted to bury will bring into light. There's really no amazing plot, interesting twist of the story, or unexpected turn of events that happen. What excites me is the flashback of their past and the regret felt by the protagonist of the story. The way the story shows that sin is a natural part of life, that people make mistakes and acceptance is always around the corner. I also love the words of wisdom the characters said from their own perspective and belief. But it is kind of incomplete, it is lacking of justification...

  TONARI NO KAIBUTSU KUN MANGA REVIEW -ROBIKO (APRIL 03 2019) Overall: 8 Plot: 6 This series is one of the, we can say, famous shoujo which most of us know. When you mention Ao Haru Ride, Kimi ni Todoke, the name of this story will also come up. After watching it a second time, I realized why I forgot how the story goes. Well, except for the chicken the characters used to take care of. This series made the reader expect for more, more revelations, more twist, more explanation on why characters acted the way they are. It is a story of a young boy, who don't have a clue on how to act properly, who left his home out of strong hatred, and was revived by a girl who saved him from the darkness he was in. Along the story, it became a loop of confused emotions, a question and annoyance on how weak the feelings are conveyed. Maybe that is the reason why it feels like it is really slow paced. The concept of the story is good, but the reason on why the story moves forward just disappeared....

  STRANGE DRAGON MANGA REVIEW -ISHIHARA KEIKO (APRIL 13 2019) Overall: 8 Plot: 8 The story focuses on a young princess who's in search of a dragon in order to get back the throne of her deceased father. Though the story is fast paced since it only contains 12 chapters, it clearly show the purpose the creator wanted the viewer to see. The will of the princess to take over the land and make up for the citizens who was treated poorly by the previous King, and the faithfulness of the dragon in her. Feels like a shorter and simpler version of Akatsuki no Yona. What is interesting on this manga is how the story show that not all we believe is true, that it is not appearance that matters. Yes, its kind of cliché but the way the creator laid it is great.  Characters: 7 Since the story is short, the chance for the characters to grow is critical. If not, impossible.   KUROKO NO BASKET ANIME REVIEW -TADATOSHI FUJIMAKI (APRIL 15 2019) Overall: 10/10 Plot: 10 Sports Anime genre have only one path to take, tournaments. Participating individually or by teaming up, it is the most common plot that exist. While this is not a unique one, it will be the author's capability how he manage to capture the interest of the viewer and excite them. This series focuses on students who love playing basketball. At first, I am really not interested on watching this anime. It is kind of absurd to think of a basketball story with extraordinary skills. But after trying it out, it made me realize that the plot of the story is great. I love the simplicity of it. The main reason of why the series moves forward and how it affects every branches of the story. Unrealistic as it may seem, the lesson is still there. The creator successfully stress out the core value when playing basketball. What also made me hook on this series is the directness of every plays all of the bask...
