QISHI HUANXIANG YE (KNIGHT FANTASTIC NIGHT) MANHUA REVIEW
-VIVIBEAR
OVERALL: 8.8
PLOT: 9
The legend of King Arthur is one of the most popular story most used as a basis of their plot. Using it is kind of cliché, but at the same time interesting. At first, I thought that this story only revolves around a simple girl who, without her full permission, brought in a game which she have to play. Isekai genre is quite popular now, isn't it? They should make one with otome games. I will read that, honestly. Setting aside the joke, this manhua is unexpectedly good. The shift of modern and old times has been easily managed. And the twist of the story will perfectly shock the reader. The story is pure and light. Rather than romance, the main story tackles the development of the characters in it. How changes will start with yourself and how would the characters accept challenges in front of them.
CHARACTERS: 8
A tsundere guy, a simple girl, a very handsome one, a very cool one. These are the traits of a common historical or reverse harem story. It's up to the creator how they will make these kind of characters interesting. The looks? No. It's the principle, the attitude of the characters being portrayed in every situation they will be in. It's how the characters created. It is what makes the character human. It's the way they think, they care, the way they get angry or irrational. And most importantly, they way they change. The characters in this manhua did change for the better. Some did. Some don't have the time to change. I think, it will be a really really great one if other characters has given an opportunity to show what they really are.
ART: 10
I love the art of this manhua. It is colorful. The characters are really handsome and some of the events set up is amazing. But I'm really not a fan of it. I love classical Japanese manga the most. But in all honesty, this manhua's art is really good. The proportion of the body, of every characters, the way they express their feelings, every different dresses the characters wear, it caught my attention. The combination of colors is truly magnificent.
ENJOYMENT: 9
One of the most awaiting scenario in a reverse harem historical story for me is the romance. However, this is a pure one and the characters already set their eyes on the one they really want right from the start. Thus, there's no need for other characters to fight for it. What's enjoyable on this series is predicting how it will end and realizing that your predictions are wrong. The enjoyment comes from the curiosity of how the story goes, how the secrets are revealed, how it will unfold.
ENDING: 8
I'm disappointed. I want more. More of Arthur, of Lancelot, of Duarte, of their existence. If the story is slow paced at the beginning and middle one. It became fast paced at the ending. The revelations in the ending is overflowing that you will need to read it again to absorb it. Like "Wait. I think I don't get what they are saying" or "Is that really is? I need to go back and understand more". But after the revelation, you will start wanting more, as if the ending is still hanging even if it already ended.
