KOISURU HARINEZUMI MANGA REVIEW (A HEDGEHOG IN LOVE)
-HINACHI NAO
(JANUARY 30 2019)
Overall: 7.8
Plot: 7
School Love, oh how cute is that? There's jealousy, there's confession, there's rivalry. It is a never ending cycle of cute gestures and expressions. A typical shoujo manga with a girl falling inlove with a scary guy who's really kind and protective. What maybe different from other stories is how the artists of this story include a scenario where the guy directly face the parents of the girl and ask for permission to date her. Adding up the family background of the guy and how it falls into the right place because of the girl. It all equals out.
Characters: 7
I love straightforward characters. The type where they frankly said if they like the people or not. The type where he most cherish one person other than the bitchy one. The girl personality is common for a shoujo manga. A sweet, charming and kind one. A person who will choose to be hurt than to hurt, the kind who choose others to be happy instead of herself. While that is the case, the guy attitude is interesting. At first, he is innocent but scary. Along the story, he shows his true side, and he exert an effort to love.
Art: 9
The artists of the story has its weird way of sketching the characters. It feels like it is kind of rough but it also looks very cute. Depending on the characters mood, the expression of the characters are intimidating. The hair of the guy where there are two pointed sides sticking out is rare and it really matches with the characters' look. Additional points with the colored pages of the sweet scenarios to highlight it.
Enjoyment: 8
It is fun to read light romance manga once in a while. Stories of a school teenagers just never gets old. Well, maybe it's just girls find it cute to read. A love story without a care in the world, just him and her falling.
Ending: 8
How the story ends just prove that the guy is a protagonist material, and a serious one at that. He shows that he really treasure the girl and that he want their relationship to take it slowly but carefully. Feels like the prince charming you've imagined when you still have no idea of how complicated love can be. I think, it will be a good read for a teenager who's starting to fall inlove.
