KOBATO ANIME REVIEW
-CLAMP
(JANUARY 29 2018)
OVERALL: 7.8
PLOT: 7/10
I'm just searching for a good anime and I don't really remember how I've come up to this one. Maybe I've search for magical that time? Or maybe a tragic one? I've downloaded it and honestly, it stays on my laptop for about 3-4 months, I guess. The first time I've saw Kobato which is the protagonist of the story. I remembered Sakura. The plot is good. It consists of how a human heart feel and act accordingly. Well, since the story revolves around a girl who's mission is to collect human emotions through healing, it will certainly tackle on different aspects of life. How a human can be hurt sometimes, how it come to love a person, how human heart is so fragile and vulnerable to pain. For me, it is not your typical anime which you can sit on one watching. It is too gentle, pure and soft. There are times I get bored watching it, most of that time is on the first part of the series since it is slightly episodic. And it's just that the series is too kindhearted you would want to savor the episodes. I also find it fun and enjoying to watch since the series showed other side characters from different anime. The parallel worlds they've been in and you will be like, "Woah. That's her from that anime." It gets exciting as the series goes deeper. It's a great anime. Though the ending might be slightly predictable, still the weigh of it did not decrease the impact once you've watch the real deal. So it's a good series for me.
CHARACTER: 8/10
The protagonist "Kobato", though she is clumsy and kind of idiot. Maybe your typical kind of anime girl. The one who can't cook. The one who can't do things right. The one who often make you involved in things you don't want to get involved at. She is also very kind, very caring, very innocent. She's too good to be true. Maybe she's 1 out of 100 person? 1000 person? If this is real life. But I think, neither Kobato and the other characters on this series, even though they get their heart healed, is the one the anime really focuses on. It's the guy in glasses and Iorogi. For me, the series actually focuses on how to heal that two hearts. And they've successfully showed it. There are no such great development on Kobato's character, but there is a big difference in the guy in glasses and Iorogi. She healed their heart, fully.
SOUND AND ANIMATION: 9/10
The songs of this anime is cool. It has a sweet melody. A jolly one. And also a heartwarming one. The voices of the actor are fine. The best voice for me is Iorogi, where he beg for Kobato's life. Though, the animation is not that great, it is good. Some character would be lacking of emotions or expressing their feeling due to the animation, but the main characters was already detailed. Maybe because they are the main characters. But all in all, the voices of the actor rightfully connects with the animation and faces of the characters in the series.
ENJOYMENT: 7/10
I did enjoy the series. Maybe the last 7-10 episodes? The first part is episodic. Just like Sakura when she is collecting cards, if you know what I mean. But instead of cards, it is healed hearts. Well, none of that matters. It is collecting, period. So what is the story when collecting something in a series, of course it will revolve in too many people. A different one. So it's just like a prologue of the story. That the story will start once the protagonists encounter that certain difficulty. It is a good anime, I have no doubt about that. The episodic part, I think, is shown to make us think and understand the characters truly. Thus, I really did enjoy that last part of this one. Where the secrets are revealed. Well, I think it's common to like the climax of the story.
ENDING: 8/10
It will be fake to say that the ending is a great one. Yes, it is good. But I don't think it is great. It's predictable, yes. But that is what we are waiting for, isn't it? That moment that we know is gonna happen. That expectation we set on every anime or love story series we are watching. Common it maybe, that is what our hearts feel. And that is what excites us. So for me, the ending is acceptable. Though I will be needing more. I need to know more about this series. It keeps me hanging with regards to Iorogi. Maybe this will be discuss in another anime? Maybe not? It leaves a loophole or an idea that there is more. The dimensions they are talking about. The fight between them. Maybe it's unavoidable, because Kobato is just a human, and there's no valid reason for them to enter that one.
