'Are you sure you want to do it?' Bothered, my sister asked me.
Her face wrinkled and shows hesitation. It's crystal clear that she really doesn't want us to continue our experiment. But the curiosity lie in my heart is too strong, too compulsive, that there is not even an inch of doubt and faltering that will take place. I really want to do it, to try something I've never regret.
"I'm sure as hell want to." I answered her while checking the premises. Clear. There are no guards on site, no one that can stop up from entering that place. Glad that we know the roundabout ways of this place.
"Let's go, hurry." Say I while grabbing my sisters hand and run before any person catch us.
Walking at this cave, we've caught a glimpse of unnatural rocks and minerals. The reflections each of them are giving off made the place light and shining. The need to go deeper strikes us because of the wonders we're staring at right now. My sister who earlier is hesitant and scared is gone. Her eyes are now full of amazement and excitement. Her lips wide open like a child seeing a thing for the first time. Well, this is her first time seeing things like this. This place is too unrealistic for her. But I know that it is possible. The curiosity within me grew stronger by these familiar things surrounding us. We are going home. Back to our true place, to where we really belong.
"It is like we are in a fairytale. Am I dreaming?" She asked while wandering off and touching every piece of things that caught her attention.
I'm glad she likes it. I thought that she's too attached on our current living that it's impossible to bring her here. My eyes saw a very tall white stone with letters carve on it. It is our language; it is ours.
"Deep within, you will find your soul. Lend your strength, an ingress will howl."
Confused, I stare at her. There is no doubt that she is one of us. I never taught her our language, yet she can read it the first time she saw it.
"Why? What's that language?" She asked herself.
"No need to be scared. You are great." I told her while slipping my hand at the right side of the stone. Too much light emits after my right hand entered the inside of the stone. It really hurts and I know that my face shows it when her expression looks like she does not know what to do.
"I'm fine. Its fine." Says me while still going deep on the rock. I'm crying in pain but upon touching the thing I needed, its all been washed away. I pull out my hand, and she heaved a sigh when she saw that nothing has changed. I got it. The way for us to get back.
"Let's go. We must hurry."
We run and go deeper and deeper. The surrounding grow more and more beautiful and satisfying to see. But we never stop. We should not stop until I found that ingress, and we did. At the end of the cave, our breathes are heard. We're both exhausted and tired of running. We're both frantically breathing.
I walk near a mirror like crystal as huge as a normal tree. After touching it, I feel more alive than I ever was on all those years I lived outside. It is rejuvenating.
"It felt like a dream." She said after touching my hand.
"Yes. We're going on a fairytale." I proudly said to her while still looking upfront. I can see a handful of guards running our way at the reflection of the stone. You will never catch us, not again.
I firmly touch my sister's hand, throw the thing I've caught earlier on the white stone, and walk forward.
We are back. We are back in our world.
This place is much more different. The trees are higher and livelier. It is so peaceful, it is so refreshing. I stepped forward and my current look changed into the real one. My wings grow back, my body is more lighter, my hair became as white as the cloud. I've missed the real me. I've missed our world.
"Hey. Don't hesitate. I know you already know that this is our world. Step forward and see."
I told her and she did. She also changed, the way I am. And I saw a different kind of smile on her face the first time. The true happiness is now residing on her face. I'm glad. I'm glad we take the risk and now we are here. We will start our lives here. And no one can ever take away our happiness again.
